2017 Year in Review

After a volatile year in 2016, there were very mixed opinions of what the steel industry would look like in 2017. Buzz words like circumvention and capacity utilization ruled the news as we headed into the new year. Now that 2017 is on its way behind us, what really happened?

Automotive stayed strong coming off a record year in 2016, scrap rallied, a new steel mill entered the domestic market, the talk of Section 232 came and then quieted, construction hit a 10-year high, oil rig counts made their move up, and demand across the industry continued to accelerate.

Focused on Service, Quality, and Safety in 2017, Miami Valley Steel Service was able to turn 2017 into a successful year. We are thankful that you are a part of our great year, and humbled to be a part of yours. As we wrap up our 34th year of servicing the steel industry, we would like to share our “year in review”. Thank you all for being a part of it:
