What is Cold Rolled Steel?

Cold rolled steel is hot rolled steel that has been further processed. The steel is processed in cold reduction mills, where the material is cooled (at room temperature) followed by annealing and/or tempers rolling. Compared to hot rolled steel, cold rolled steel has a superior surface  finish and is superior in tolerance, concentricity, and straightness. This process will produce steel with closer dimensional tolerances and a wide range of surface finishes.
