Miami Valley Steel Service Announces Major Facility Expansion in Piqua, Ohio

Piqua, OH – August 5, 2025 – Miami Valley Steel Service (MVSS), a leading processor and supplier of flat-rolled steel, is proud to announce a major expansion of its Piqua facility. The project will add over 50,000 square feet, bringing the company’s total footprint to just under 400,000 square feet under one roof.

This expansion will create 20 new jobs and solidify MVSS as one of the most capable and diversified steel service centers in the nation, offering one of the widest ranges of capabilities and product offerings under a single roof. MVSS currently serves more than 800 customers nationwide, including 300 in Ohio, with shipments reaching over 30 states.

“This expansion reflects the incredible growth and resilience of our team and our customers,” said Nick Straka, CEO of Miami Valley Steel Service. “We are proud to continue investing in American manufacturing right here in Piqua, Ohio, while expanding our ability to serve customers across the nation.”

The project was made possible in part by the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), a federal initiative that encourages business investment and expansion. “The OBBB gave us the confidence to move forward with this project,” Straka added. “We are grateful for the support of our elected officials in creating an environment where companies like ours can grow, create jobs, and strengthen American industry.” MVSS will celebrate the milestone with a facility tour for U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno, state and local leaders, and Miami County Commissioners, highlighting the company’s commitment to American manufacturing, job creation, and the local economy.
